I. Am. An. Addict.

So, I have a confession to make: I. Am. An. Addict. Whew! That was not easy to say! It’s not something I wanted to confess, but we all know the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. The thing is, my addiction is quite common, but one most people are in denial about. I’m not addicted to drugs or alcohol. I don’t smoke. I don’t pop pills. My addiction is to… SUGAR- anything ooey, gooey, chocolatey, and sweet!

I’ve suffered from this addiction most of my life. I crave sweets all day, every day. What most people call a sweet tooth, I call an obsession, and a personal struggle with instant gratification. I believe that everything is ok in moderation, but I have had sugar overload for too long and it’s time for me to make a change.

For the next few weeks, I will be completing the Whole30 program. Whole30 is a meal plan where you completely eliminate sugar, dairy, grains, and legumes in order to heal and recover the body from the effects that these things can cause.

I chose to do this because I need help. My goal is to reset my body and restart my fitness journey. I already know that it’s not going to be easy and I’m prepared to go through withdrawal. But, I’m strong and I know that in the end, I’ll have the victory!

It’s been said that it takes at least 21 days to break a bad habit. Well, I’m giving myself 30 days to get it together! I can’t wait to be sugar-free and happy 😊

This is going to be an interesting (and sometimes emotional) journey. I decided to write about in order to hold myself accountable. I’ll be back in 30 days to let you all know how well I did and talk about my results. Until then, keep me in prayer. I’m gonna need lots of it! With love always,

-Christina

  1. Good bless you Christina on your journey. My goal is to become healthier and loose the weight that am tired of carrying around. My goal is to eat healthier, to eat less meat and exercise more. So I encourage you on your journey as I prepare to take mine and I will keep you in prayer.
